Edgar Wright has just added two more to his upcoming psychological thriller Last Night in Soho. Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie (Leave No Trace) and Matt Smith (Doctor Who) will star alongside Anya Taylor-Joy (Glass) for Wright’s film. There is no word yet on any of their roles.
Plot details are currently scarce with the only bit of information being Last Night in Soho is a psychological horror-thriller that will be influenced by Nicholas Roeg’s Don’t Look Now and Roman Polanski’s Repulsion. Wright co-wrote the script with Krysty Wilson-Cairns (Penny Dreadful) and previously spoke to Empire about the film’s inspiration.
“I realised I had never made a film about central London – specifically Soho, somewhere I’ve spent a huge amount of time in the last 25 years,” Wright said. “With Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead you make movies about places you’ve lived in. This movie is about the London I’ve existed in.”
Last Night in Soho will begin production this summer.
