Back in March it was announced that Bruce Willis is set for the lead in Death Wish, and now The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that horror maestro Eli Roth (The Green Inferno, Knock Knock) has signed on to direct the remake of the 1974 cult classic.
Roth is taking over the reins from Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado (Big Bad Wolves), who themselves were a replacement for original director Joe Carnahan (The Grey).
The original revenge thriller was based on Brian Garfield’s 1972 novel and saw Michael Winner directing Charles Bronson as Paul Kersey, a man who seeks revenge after his wife is murdered and his daughter sexually assaulted. It went on to spawn four sequels.
