Having grossed over $30 million at the box office following the film’s premiere last month, serial killer John Carver is set to slash again with Sony’s TriStar Pictures giving the go ahead to Eli Roth’s latest horror offering Thanksgiving.
Roth confirmed the news on social media with a post on Instagram that read: “BREAKING NEWS! John Carver will kill again! @thanksgivingmovie sequel is a GO!!! Thank you everyone who supported ORIGINAL HORROR in theaters!!! Go see it now on the big screen while it’s in cinemas, sequel set for release in 2025! Taking a year to really get the script right, working on it starting today!”

A feature version of Roth’s 2007 faux trailer for Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s Grindhouse, the film follows a Thanksgiving-inspired serial killer who terrorises a small Massachusetts town around over the holiday. You can read our review here.
Thanksgiving features a cast that includes Patrick Dempsey (Grey’s Anatomy), Addison Rae (He’s All That), Milo Manheim (Z-O-M-B-I-E-S 3), Gina Gershon (Bound), Rick Hoffman (Hostel), Tim Dillon (Timing), Jalen Thomas Brooks (Walker), Nell Verlaque (Nowhere), Gabriel Davenport (Hotel for the Holidays), Tomaso Sanelli (Titans), Jenna Warren (My Little Pony: Make Your Mark), and Karen Cliche (Saw VI).
