THR is reporting that Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale) is in final negotiations to join Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Dark Phoenix) in the cast of Next Goal Wins, the next film from Thor: Ragnarok and Jojo Rabbit director Taika Waititi.
Next Goal Wins is based upon the 2014 documentary of the same name, which tells the story of Dutch football coach Thomas Rongen (Fassbender), who took on the unenviable – and mammoth – task of managing the American Samoa national team during the qualifying stage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Moss will next be seen in Blumhouse Pictures’ Universal Monsters reboot The Invisible Man, along with Wes Anderson’s next film The French Dispatch, and will also return for the recently announced fourth season of The Handmaid’s Tale at Hulu.
