WandaVision scene-stealer Dottie is making her way back to the witchy Marvel world, this time starring in the Agatha spin-off.
We’ve learned that Emma Caulfield will join Kathryn Hahn in Agatha: Coven of Chaos, the Disney+ spin-off series focused on Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness.
The news of her MCU return came during an interview with Vanity Fair. In the piece, the actress revealed she has been battling multiple sclerosis privately for over a decade. She noted she did fear that “MS could affect her livelihood but decided to go public in part for her young daughter and to raise awareness.”
During the interview, Caulfield says, “If I have a platform at all, I should be using it even if it affects my ability to get work. … It’s better for me to at least be vocal about this and be out there to try to help the MS Foundation and other groups who are doing research.”
Caulfield also states that WandaVision head writer Jac Schaeffer and the crew were among those she disclosed her diagnosis to, noting that they went out of their way to “help accommodate her needs during the shoot.”
Emma Caulfield made a splash in WandaVision as Dottie, the neighbor many suspected could play a significant villainous role. While that would go to Hahn’s Agatha, Caulfield still felt her character had more to offer. Viewers will best know her for her work in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where she played vengeance demon Anya for multiple seasons.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos is coming to Disney+ in Winter 2023.
