The cast of Sony’s Madame Web movie continues to grow, with Deadline reporting that Emma Roberts (American Horror Story) has become the latest addition to the Marvel Comics adaptation.
Details on Roberts’ role are being kept under wraps, but the actress joins a cast that includes Dakota Johnson (Cha Cha Real Smooth) in the title role as Madame Web alongside Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), Isabela Merced (Dora The Explorer), Celeste O’Connor (Ghostbusters: Afterlife) and Tahar Rahim (The Mauritanian).
Madame Web is based upon the Marvel comic book title, which revolves around an elderly lady with psychic abilities who is connected to a life-support system shaped like a spider’s web.
It’s unclear at this point how Sony and director S.J. Clarkson (Jessica Jones) plan to tackle the character, but it’s been said that the studio sees the character as their version of Marvel’s Doctor Strange in their shared universe alongside Venom, Morbius and the upcoming Kraven the Hunter.
