Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy rumoured for a return in The Amazing Spider-Man 3

November 4, 2014 by Gary Collinson

We all know that Sony is struggling with how to take its Amazing Spider-Man franchise forward, but surely there’s no truth to this rumour, is there?

Despite the fact that fans finally got to see The Night Gwen Stacy Died play out on the big screen in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Christian Today is reporting that the character could be set to return from the grave, with the site claiming that the studio will take another leaf out of the comic book source material by having The Jackal clone Gwen, opening the door for Emma Stone’s return in The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

Personally, this seems like rampant speculation on the site’s behalf, given that Sony seems to have put The Amazing Spider-Man 3 on the back burner in favour of developing its various villain-centric spin-offs. But, if there is any truth in this, how would you feel about Gwen being brought back to life? Is it a good idea, or would it be the final nail in the coffin for Sony’s Spidey series?
