During an interview with Access Hollywood at the premiere for her new film, actress Emma Watson has revealed that she “would love to do a sequel” to this year’s smash hit live-action Beauty and the Beast movie.
“I would love to do a sequel,” said Watson. “I always thought that Belle would become a teacher and she would run the library in the castle and open it up to the village. This was where I was going.”
Considering Beauty and the Beast has grossed $1.1 billion at the box office, it would seem pretty safe to assume that Disney would also be very keen for a sequel. Nevertheless, the studio seemingly ruled out the possibility last month, although executive Sean Bailey did say they are open to exploring “possible spinoff and prequel scenarios”.
