If you want more Euphoria, then prepare to wait a bit longer.
Amid rumors that the hit award-winning HBO series was ready to shutter its doors for good, it’s been confirmed that it won’t be canceled but will resume production when its very busy stars are more open.
Variety reported that production on the third season would be significantly delayed. An HBO spokesperson told Variety, “HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season. In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”
The ‘in-demand cast’ mentioned includes some of the most famous names in pop culture today. Series regulars Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Hunter Schafer are all in a new era, starring in massive blockbusters and receiving award nominations. Zendaya is promoting Dune: Part Two and has a press tour with her film Challengers. As for Elordi, Sweeney, and Schafer, all of them have quite a few projects lined up for 2024 and beyond.
The tragic July 2023 death of Angus Cloud and Barbie Ferreira leaving the series has forced production to wait for their remaining stars to free up the schedule to return to the show that put them on the map.
