Euphoria has a production start date, so the sleaze will return to HBO.
It’s reported the third season will start filming in January 2025, with Sam Levinson bringing us back to the fictional town of East Highland, California. Little is known about the plot, but expect some time jump between the second and third seasons to explain the actors’ aging.
While things could change, Levinson described Season 3 as a “film noir” back in August and teased that Zendaya’s character of a recovering addict would “explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world.”
Some of the big names the show has boasted include Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and recurring player Colman Domingo. Dane, Maude Apatow, Storm Reid, Alexa Demie, Hunter Schafer, Nika King, and Dominic Fike also appeared in the series. Confirmation on precisely who will return hasn’t been said, though the reports note “all of the principal cast are returning.”
EVP of HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and films Francesca Orsi said, “I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on Euphoria in January. We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for the fans.”
Not only was the production hit hard with delays and the stars’ busy schedules, but the show was plagued with tragedy with the unexpected deaths of star Angus Cloud and executive producer Kevin Turen.
