Evan Peters (American Horror Story), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Kate Mara (House of Cards) and James Van Der Beek (Dawson’s Creek) are set to join Pose, a new drama pilot from Ryan Murphy (American Horror Story, American Crime Story) which is set up at FX.
Variety reports that the potential series takes place in the mid-80s in New York, and examines “the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in Manhattan: the emergence of the luxury Trump-era universe, the ball culture world, and downtown social and literary scene.”
Peters and Mara will play New Jersey couple Stan and Patty, who find themselves sucked into the glamour and intrigue of New York City. Van Der Beek portrays Peters’ financial kingpin boss Matt, with Maslany as a modern dance teacher who takes a special interest in the talent of Damon (Ryan Jamaal Swain).
The project has been co-created by Murphy and Brad Falchuk and Steven Canals. In addition to the above, the cast will also feature Tony Award-winner Billy Porter, along with the largest number of transgender actors to have series regular roles in TV history.
