Deadline is reporting that Mia Challis, who’ll soon star on Netflix’s eight-episode thriller Clickbait, has joined the cast of Evil Dead Rise as an 18-year-old girl obsessed with fashion and social media.
In addition to the casting, the outlet has noted additional new story details stating that the film will focus on the younger sister, Beth, as she’ll have to face a twisted version of motherhood taken straight from the Necronomicon as the Deadites will take claim of Ellie and her kids.
The synopsis for the film reads: Evil Dead Rise is set to follow two estranged sisters whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable. The film has been confirmed to build off the original trilogy, rather than the 2013 reboot, as well as moving out of the woods and into a modern-day urban setting.
