With the roaring critical and commercial success of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and heavy interest in upcoming spinoffs such as the young Han Solo project, it’s no surprise that fans have a desire to see Ewan McGregor reprise his Prequel Trilogy role as Obi-Wan Kenobi. The actor would also happily take part if Disney pitched an Obi-Wan centered blockbuster.
Speaking to Business Insider to promote the North American release of T2 Trainspotting, McGregor said: “Listen, I have been asked about it a lot, to the point where it looks a bit like I’m sort of touting for work. I’ve been very open to say I’d be happy to do it, if they want to do it.”
It has been strongly rumoured that Lucasfilm is planning an Obi-Wan Kenobi Anthology movie (or even a trilogy of movies), while there has also been talk that he could make an appearance in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, following his brief voice cameo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

In addition to T2 Trainspotting, moviegoers can also see McGregor as Lumiere in Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast. As for Star Wars, the next entry will be Star Wars: The Last Jedi due out in theaters this December.
