Deadline has revealed that Ewan McGregor has signed on to appear in Zoe, the new film from director Drake Doremus (Equals), replacing the previously cast Charlie Hunnam, who has been forced to drop out of the project due to scheduling difficulties.
McGregor will star alongside Lea Seydoux (Spectre) in the film, which “follows two colleagues at a revolutionary research lab who design technology to improve and perfect romantic relationships. As their work progresses, their discoveries become more profound than they could ever have imagined.”
Doremus’ latest film Newness premieres at the Sundance Film Festival on Sunday, and stars Nicholas Hoult, Laia Costa, Danny Huston, Courtney Eaton, Albert Hammond Jr. and Matthew Gray Gubler. Meanwhile, McGregor will next be seen in T2 Trainspotting, which opens in the UK this Friday, January 27th.
