Following an acclaimed festival run beginning at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, Film Movement has now debuted a trailer for Mother, Couch, the comedy drama from writer-director Niclas Larsson, ahead of its US release in July.
Starring Ewan McGregor, Rhys Ifans, Taylor Russell, Ellen Burstyn, Lara Flynn Boyle, F. Murray Abraham and Lake Bell, the film follows three estranged siblings as they find themselves forced to confront life-altering truths about their lives and upbringing when they are reluctantly brought together after their mother refuses to get up from a display couch in a furniture store. The members of a dysfunctional family find themselves mysteriously trapped in an antiquated furniture store when their elderly matriarch (Ellen Burstyn) suddenly refuses to get up from one of the display couches.
