Standing still isn’t in Margot Robbie’s nature. After establishing her acting credentials in The Wolf Of Wall Street, her Oscar nominated turn in I,Tonya came just four years later. It was also her first film as a producer to make it to the big screen although, as she explained to Flickering Myth’s Freda Cooper, it was actually her second outing in that role. Her debut as a producer came with Terminal, which has its home entertainment release on Monday, 6 August.
She describes the movie, made over two years before Tonya, as “weird, wonderful and dark” and admits that, although she was initially sceptical about producing, she found it complimented her acting and gave her an emotional investment in the film. It was, she recalls, “like your baby.”
Directing is on the cards for her as well, although not perhaps for the time being. Her much-publicised future outings as Harley Quinn are on the horizon, with Birds Of Prey coming first. As well as reprising her Suicide Squad role, she’ll be producing again and preparing for filming to start in January 2019.
