Tai Freligh interviews Kelly Lynch from Mr. Mercedes…
Kelly Lynch (Charlie’s Angels, Road House, Drugstore Cowboy) plays Deborah Hartsfield in Mr. Mercedes, the television show based on the Stephen King novel of the same name. Tai Freligh with Flickering Myth interviewed her at Comic-Con 2017 and asked her about playing Brady Hartsfield’s creepy mom, about her character and how much of a Stephen King superfan she is.
Here she talks about her rather inappropriate relationship with her son.
Here she talks about preparing to play the character and whether or not it sticks with her after the acting is done.
Here she talks about how much of a superfan she is of Stephen King and his books and being involved in the show.
Here she talks about The Dark Tower books and whether or not she’ll see the movie.
Here she talks about the advantages of making a Mr. Mercedes television show instead of a movie.
From Executive Producers Stephen King, David E. Kelley and Jack Bender comes the story of a demented serial killer who taunts a retired police detective with a series of lurid letters and emails. This forces the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he can strike again.
Brendan Gleeson (Harry Potter) plays Detective Bill Hodges alongside Harry Treadaway (Penny Dreadful) as Brady Hartsfield, Jharrel Jerome (Moonlight) as Jerome Robinson, Scott Lawrence (Avatar) as Detective Peter Dixon, Robert Stanton (Mercury Rising) as Anthony “Robi” Frobisher, Ann Cusack (Nightcrawler) as Olivia Trelawney, Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds) as Janey Patterson and Holland Taylor (The Truman Show) as Ida Silver. They join the previously announced Kelly Lynch (Magic City) as Deborah Hartsfield, Justine Lupe (Harry’s Law) as Holly Gibney and Breeda Wool (uNREAL) as Lou Linklatter.
Mr. Mercedes is set to premiere on August 9th.
