Netflix’s new drama The Good Cop doesn’t premiere until Friday, but we have a special sneak peek of the show’s score by composer Pat Irwin.
More than likely you have heard Irwin’s distinctive work as he was a member of the popular new wave band The B-52’s from 1989-2008 and has composed hit shows such as Nick’s Rocko’s Modern Life & Pepper Ann, Showtime’s Nurse Jackie and HBO’s Bored to Death to name a few.
The Good Cop follows Big Tony (Tony Danza), a lovable yet not exactly honorable, former NYPD officer who never followed the rules. He lives with his son, Tony Jr. (Josh Groban), a brilliant, straight-laced NYPD detective who makes it a point to always follow the rules while solving Brooklyn’s toughest cases.
This “odd couple” becomes unofficial partners as Tony Sr. offers his overly-cautious son blunt, street-wise advice. Also joining the cast are Monica Barbaro, Isiah Whitlock, Jr and Bill Kottkamp.

Pat is touring with his band, PI Power Trio, next month with stops in Solana Beach, Los Angeles, Portland Seattle and Vancouver. You can purchase tickets and learn more about Pat here.
