Thanks to Gravitas Ventures, we’ve got our hands on an exclusive trailer for writer-director Daniela De Carlo’s indie drama The Blackout, which is set during Hurrican Sandy and follows a group of friends and strangers who gather at an apartment party. Watch it below…
It’s almost Halloween and the airways buzz with worries about Hurricane Sandy, a storm headed up the coast and straight for New York City. New Yorkers go about their lives, including three roommates, who are throwing a hybrid Halloween and Sandy party. As their friends arrive, the winds pick up and tensions mount between the three roommates, who have to vacate their apartment in 30 days’ time. Abruptly, a large section of New York is plunged into darkness. As their smartphones die and candles are lit, they connect and reveal themselves below the social (media) mask, surrendering to the purest form of human connection: face to face conversation amidst confections, libations, and confessions.
The Blackout is set for release on February 16th 2021 and stars Leah Henoch, Hillary Anne Matthews, Tess Paras, Alexander Chard, Avi Rothman, Matt Kane, Joslyn Jensen, Brandon Kyle Goodman, Marc Underhill, Patty Guggenheim and Robert Belushi.
