Family Guy showrunners Rich Appel and Alec Sulkin have revealed to Deadline that the animated show is set to pay tribute to Quahog’s Mayor – the late, great Adam West – with a special tribute episode set to air during the upcoming seventeenth season.
“We’re going to have a big episode which says a proper farewell to Adam West who obviously was a huge part of our town,” revealed the showrunners. “He was the mayor, he played Mayor Adam West, and as a person and as a character, he was as original a comic voice as you could imagine and such a collaborative and sweet man, honestly. So we wanted to commemorate him, and there’s a full episode about how we honor him and say goodbye to him.”
West, who was of course best known for his role as the Caped Crusader in the 1960s Batman TV series, sadly passed away last June, aged 88. At the time, Animation on Fox released the following tribute video to the beloved actor…
Season seventeen of Family Guy is set to premiere on Fox later in the year.
