Despite losing its hold over the top of the box office charts in the wake of Avengers: Age of Ultron’s release, Universal’s blockbuster action sequel Fast & Furious 7 has continued its hugely-impressive run by overtaking Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 to become the fourth biggest film of all time.
The James Wan-directed Furious 7 now sits on $1.429 billion around the globe, and is now just some $90 million short of 2012’s The Avengers in third place. It looks to be the start of a big shake-up in the all time top five this year, with Avengers: Age of Ultron and Star Wars: The Force Awakens both likely to find themselves up there when the dust settles on 2015.
