Let’s wish Felicity Jones a holly jolly holiday season, with the actress boarding a new Christmas comedy film as Deadline reports that Jones will set to star in Michael Showalter’s Oh. What. Fun. for Amazon MGM Studios. She’ll join Michelle Pfeiffer, Chloë Grace Moretz, and Dominic Sessa.
In the film, Claire Clauster (Pfeiffer) organizes a special Christmas outing when her family forgets her in the shuffle. By the time they realize their mistake, she’s gone missing. Their Christmas is in jeopardy, but Claire has other plans.
Showalter co-wrote the script with Chandler Baker, based on a short story by Baker, who is also executive producing. The rest of the producers include ShowalterSemi-Formal Productions alongside Jordana Mollick; Tribeca’s Berry Welsh and Jane Rosenthal; and Kate Churchill.
Felicity Jones is best known for starring in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and will next star in the drama The Brutalist alongside Adrien Brody, Joe Alwyn, and Guy Pearce.
Michael Showalter is a big name; he and David Wain created the Wet Hot American Summer franchise, with Showalter co-writing and starring in Wet Hot American Summer (2001). He also directed 2017’s acclaimed hit The Big Sick and helmed this year’s rom-com The Idea of You.
Oh. What. Fun. will be available to stream on Prime Video upon its release.
