After being announced back in January, we now have our first piece of casting news on the new Ghostbusters movie from director Jason Reitman, with THR revealing that Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things) and Carrie Coon (Fargo) are in talks to join the film.
According to the site, the sequel will focus on a single mom and her family, with Coon portraying the mother and Wolfhard as her son. Further family members are expected to be cast soon.
Specific plot details for the new film are being kept tightly under wraps, but we do know that it will take place in the same continuity as the first two movies, directed by Reitman’s father Ivan Reitman. So far, there has been no word on any returning cast members, although Ernie Hudson (Winston Zeddemore) has suggested that the original cast will be back.
