First look at Aaron Eckhart and Nina Dobrev in Renny Harlin’s The Bricklayer

May 26, 2022 by Gary Collinson

Screen Media has snapped up the North American distribution rights to Millennium Films’ The Bricklayer, a new action film from director Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger) and starring Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight) and Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries), both of whom are featured in the first look images.

The logline for the film reads: “In The Bricklayer, someone is blackmailing the CIA—assassinating foreign journalists and making it look like the agency is responsible. As the world begins to unite against the U.S., the CIA must lure its most brilliant—and rebellious—operative out of retirement, forcing him to confront his checkered past while unraveling an international conspiracy.”

“The dynamic team of iconic director Renny Harlin and charismatic lead Aaron Eckhart is unmatched,” said Screen Media in the official announcement statement. “We’re grateful and excited to make this intense action thriller our second film in our Millennium partnership.”

The Bricklayer is slated to release in cinemas and on VOD in North America next summer, and sees Aaron Eckhart and Nina Dobrev starring alongside Clifton Collins Jr. (Westworld), Tim Blake Nelson (Nightmare Alley) and Ilfenesh Hadera (Baywatch).
