UPDATE: According to Screen Rant, Disney and Lucasfilm have informed the site that the artwork is not official. If it’s fake, it’s certainly very well done. Original story follows.
With a trailer reportedly set to arrive any time soon [read an alleged description here], we may now have our first piece of promotional artwork for Solo: A Star Wars Story thanks to a piece of artwork showing Alden Ehrenreich’s Han, Donald Glover’s Lando Calrissian, Emilia Clarke’s as-yet-unrevealed character, and the mighty Chewbacca; check it out here…
Meanwhile, a scanned image from the upcoming issue of Empire has revealed some plot details, with the article stating that:
“It’s part of Solo lore that, as a young gifted pilot, he studied at the Imperial Academy at Carida. Solo is kicked out of the Academy for rescuing Chewbacca from an Imperial Officer, and thus one of the cinema’s greatest friendships was formed. Some variation on this is likely in Solo.”
The article goes on to confirm that, as previously rumoured, the Millennium Falcon will be sporting a new paint job with blue markings (which you can see in the promo art above), while the dice spotted in Star Wars: The Last Jedi may also play a role as Han plays sabacc with Lando for ownership of the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.
