Trailer for Palme d’Or-winning uber-rich satire Triangle of Sadness

August 10, 2022 by Amie Cranswick

Neon has debuted the first trailer and posters for writer-director Ruben Östlund’s Palme d’Or-winning satirical dark comedy Triangle of Sadness.

The film features a cast that includes Harris Dickinson, Charlbi Dean, Dolly de Leon, and Woody Harrelson, and centres on the super-rich passengers of a luxury yacht, helmed by an unhinged boat captain, as they find the social hierarchy turn upside down when they become stranded on a desert island.

In Ruben Östlund’s wickedly funny Palme d’Or winner, social hierarchy is turned upside down, revealing the tawdry relationship between power and beauty. Celebrity model couple, Carl (Harris Dickinson) and Yaya (Charlbi Dean), are invited on a luxury cruise for the uber-rich, helmed by an unhinged boat captain (Woody Harrelson). What first appeared instagrammable ends catastrophically, leaving the survivors stranded on a desert island and fighting for survival.

Triangle of Sadness arrives in cinemas on October 7th.
