Former Daredevil showrunner praises Henry Cavill as “a great Superman”

September 14, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Stephen S. DeKnight, the former showrunner for Daredevil, has come out and praised Henry Cavill’s Superman in the aftermath of his apparent exit from the role.

The internet was wild with speculation yesterday (so a day like any other ending in ‘y’) but it was particularly energetic due to the news that Henry Cavill had apparently ended his time as Superman.

While this hasn’t been officially confirmed and Warner Bros themselves has said no decisions have been made on Superman’s future, many people were using the news as an excuse to present their opinion on Cavill’s tenure as the character.

Stephen DeKnight, the former showrunner for Netflix’s Daredevil, took to Twitter to praise the actor: “Regardless of the material, Henry Cavill was a great Superman.”

DeKnight then defended Cavill from what he perceived to be an unwarranted criticism of the actor’s performance: “That’s a gross generalization and not specific at all. Plus wildly inaccurate, in my opinion. You don’t like him, which is fine. But why go out of your way to shit on him when I make a positive comment?”
