20th Century Fox has come out on top in a bidding war for the rights to author John Green’s latest novel Turtles All the Way Down, and has set Temple Hill Entertainment to develop a big screen adaptation following their success with 2014’s The Fault in Our Stars and 2015’s Paper Towns.
The Amazon description for Turtles All the Way Down reads:
Sixteen-year-old Aza never intended to pursue the mystery of fugitive billionaire Russell Pickett, but there’s a hundred-thousand-dollar reward at stake and her Best and Most Fearless Friend, Daisy, is eager to investigate. So together, they navigate the short distance and broad divides that separate them from Russell Pickett’s son, Davis. Aza is trying. She is trying to be a good daughter, a good friend, a good student, and maybe even a good detective, while also living within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.”
“It doesn’t mean there will definitely be a movie, but it means that there might be one,” said Green with regards to news of the deal. “So now’s the time to begin inundating me with casting suggestions.”
Green is set to serve as executive producer on the movie adaptation, which is set to be released through Fox 2000.
