It looks like Fox is confident that it has a hit on its hands with Deadpool, as The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the studio has tapped screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to start working on a script for a sequel, which already has the green light.
Directed Tim Miller is yet to officially sign on for the sequel, although THR is suggesting that Fox is keen to keep the creative team intact for Ryan Reynolds’ second solo outing as the Merc with a Mouth.

Meanwhile, Comic Book has wasted no time in confirming that Cable will feature in the sequel; Miller did tell Empire back in July that, “If we don’t put Cable in Deadpool 2 I think we’ll be run out of town on a rail,” and at the risk of SPOILERS… stop reading now….
…the film itself also makes it pretty clear that Nathan Summers will feature in the follow-up.

Deadpool is set for release on February 10th in the UK and February 12th in the States and sees Ryan Reynolds reprising the role of the Merc with a Mouth alongside T.J. Miller (Transformers: Age of Extinction) as Weasel, Morena Baccarin (Gotham) as Copycat, Gina Carano (Fast & Furious 6) as Angel Dust, Ed Skrein (Game of Thrones) as Ajax, Stefan Kapicic (24) as Colossus, Leslie Uggams (Roots) as Blind Al and newcomer Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
