Frontier Developments has announced that a wealth of new animals are coming to Planet Zoo on PC at the end of the month with the Southeast Asia Animal Pack. This brand new pack offers the most new animals of any DLC released to date and consists of a menagerie of animals requested by the Planet Zoo community. See more of these new animals below…
The Southeast Asia Animal Pack introduces a wide range of new animals to zoos and includes the Clouded Leopard, Sun Bear, Proboscis Monkey, Binturong, Malayan Tapir, Ussuri Dhole, North Sulawesi Babirusa and Giant Malaysian Leaf Insect.
The Cloud Leopard is a secret and solitary predator that is on the decline in the wild and players will have to help protect this vulnerable species. The Sun Bear is a sociable animal that is quite happy to live among others and will be a nice attraction for those who want to see it’s playful antics. Last but by no means least is the Giant Malaysian Leaf Insect, the only exhibit animal in the DLC, this insect has evolved to imitate a leaf to fool predators. Even its movements mimic those of leaves moving in a breeze.
This new DLC will also include a brand new timed scenario based in Perak, Malaysia, and see players placed in charge of a struggling zoo set in a tropical rainforest biome. It’s up to players to reverse the fortunes of this zoo.
Releasing alongside this new DLC is a free update that brings a range of extras and improvements, including zoo entrances, video billboards, fresh scenario rewards, customisable water colour and volume and the ability to save franchise zoos as sandboxes. This free update will include a timed scenario called Bernie’s First Steps where zoo managers will be required to turn an early version of Goodwin House into a successful country park.
The Southeast Asia Animal Pack releases on Steam on 30th March.
