FX adapting Alan Moore’s From Hell for TV

November 18, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that FX is developing a new drama series based upon the graphic novel From Hell from Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell, which is being adapted by David Arata (Children of Men) and executive produced by Don Murphy, who also produced the 2001 movie starring Johnny Depp.

The 572-page epic tells the story of Jack the Ripper, suggesting that the killer was a persona created in order to cover up an illegitimate child of Prince Albert Victor, Duke of Clarence, and Annie Crook, a prostitute from the East End.

According to Deadline, producer Murphy has always envisioned From Hell as a television series and believes that the current TV climate will allow him to do the epic tale justice.
