With Marvel Studios opting to sit out this year’s Comic-Con, Warner Bros. and DC Films have a real opportunity to steal the limelight with their big DC presentation in Hall H next month.
We’ve already had confirmation from director James Wan that the DC panel will feature the debut of the first trailer for December’s Aquaman movie, and now comes word from Deadline that Warner Bros. is looking to make Wonder Woman 1984 its “big surprise”, with Gal Gadot reportedly set to make an appearance to debut the very first footage from the hotly-anticipated sequel to last year’s acclaimed solo blockbuster.
Meanwhile, Splash Report claims that the panel will also offer up the first trailer for next year’s Shazam! movie. It’s not exactly the most reliable of sources, but the film did wrap in May so it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise if we do see something from the April 2019 release.
Previous rumours have suggested that Warner Bros. will be using the SDCC panel to unveil a “rebranding” of the DC Extended Universe, while it’s also possible we’ll get some official news on Todd Phillips’ Joker origin movie, given that it is reportedly due to go into production in September.
