It may not have proven to be a success with much of its audience, but the Emmy voters certainly seemed impressed by the final season of HBO’s Game of Thrones, with the epic fantasy series leading the winners at the 2019 Emmy Awards with twelve nominations across the Primetime and Creative Arts categories, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
It was also a huge night for Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who was the recipient of the awards for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, while the show also received the award for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series.
