At this year’s Game Awards, Netmarble and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced that they will be releasing Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, a new action-adventure RPG in 2025. The game is currently in development for mobiles but other platforms are to be decided at a later date. Gamers can get their first look at the upcoming game in the new trailer below…
Game of Thrones: Kingsroad will introduce a brand-new story that takes place during the fourth season of the Game of Thrones TV series. It also introduces a new character who becomes the heir to House Tyre, a small noble house in the North of Westeros. Players will be able to customise this new character using a robust character creator and assign him a class from three different classes, Sellsword, Knight or Assassin.
Taking on the role of this new character, players will need to secure their legacy as the head of their House but also become involved in the wider issues affecting Westeros, such as all the political goings on and the troubles looming beyond the Wall. It will be vital for players to master the combat skills of their chosen class if they are to traverse the Kingsroad and gain success and rewards.
Netmarble CEO Young-sig Kwon said, “We believe Game of Thrones is a world rich with untold stories and adventures, and we’re pleased to bring Westeros to life in an exciting new way for gamers.”
Game of Thrones: Kingsroad will release in 2025. Look out for more news coming next year.
