Irish actor Michael McElhatton – best known for his role of Roose Bolton in HBO’s Game of Thrones – has revealed that he is appearing in November’s DC blockbuster Justice League, and although he’s keeping his part to himself, he did offer a few tidbits of info during an interview with Red Carpet News TV.
“The scene I did, well at the moment I can say it’s a big kind of opening scene,” said McElhatton. “It was pretty dark actually, in it’s tone. But in a good way.. I quite like that. It wasn’t comic booky, but you can thread a certain amount of humor in it, which maybe the previous one was lacking. There’s probably going to be a lot more humor in it, I think would be the main difference compared to [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice].”

If rumours are to be believed, Justice League will begin with a flashback which sees an army of Amazons, Atlanteans and humans battling the forces of Apokolips (as briefly glimpsed in the trailer), so presumably McElhatton will figure into the battle somewhere.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Justice League will reunite Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Mamoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta alongside J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard (The Danish Girl) as Mera, Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man) as Vulko, Kiersey Clemons (Dope) as Iris West, Ciaran Hinds (Game of Thrones) as Steppenwolf, and Julian Lewis Jones (Stella) and Michael McElhatton (Game of Thrones) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
