We may have to wait until 2019 to see the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones – April 2019 in fact, according to Maisie Williams – but with filming now underway we do have some set photos from the epic fantasy series both to tide us over, and tease what is in store for Westeros now that winter is here.
The last we saw, The Night King and his Army of the Dead had breached the wall, and were marching south, the War for the Dawn ready to begin. And judging from the set photos from Moneyglass, Northern Ireland, it looks like Winterfell is going to play host to one of the first major battles…

Season seven ended with several of our favourites stationed at Winterfell, including Sansa, Arya and Bran Stark, and these set photos seem to suggest grim times for the Starks and their ancestral home.
