With the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones fast approaching, HBO is pressing ahead with its plans for a spinoff prequel, adding five new series regulars to the cast of the pilot.
Marquis Rodriquez (Luke Cage), John Simm (Doctor Who), Richard McCabe (Collateral), John Heffernan (Luther), and Dixie Egerickx (Patrick Melrose) have all signed on for as-yet-unrevealed roles in the potential series.
The new additions join the previously announced Naomi Watts (Gypsy), Josh Whitehouse (Poldark), Naomi Ackie (Lady Macbeth), Denise Gough (Colette), Jamie Campbell Bower (Camelot), Shella Atim (Harlots), Ivanno Jeremiah (Black Mirror), Georgie Henley (The Spanish Princess), Alex Sharp (How to Talk to Girls at Parties), Miranda Richardson (Harry Potter) and Toby Regbo (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald).

“Taking place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’s history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.”
The pilot has been created by Jane Goldman (X-Men: First Class) and A Song of Ice and Fire creator George R.R. Matin, and has S.J. Clarkson (Jessica Jones) attached to direct.
