Gamescom trailer for Genesis: Alpha One introduces cloning

August 23, 2017 by Andrew Newton

Veteran developers and publishers Team17 and developer Radiation Blue have unveiled a new trailer for their roguelike shooter/survival game Genesis: Alpha One at this year’s Gamescom event.  This latest trailer introduces the games cloning feature that players will rely on for creating stronger and more efficient crew. Watch it below…

In a future where Earth has been ravaged by war, polluted beyond measure and resources have been over exploited humanities last hope lays with the Genesis Program.  Genesis: Alpha One will put players in the roll of the Captain of a Genesis star ship where you will venture into space, creating crew members with the cloning equipment, seeking out life and destroying it to mix the alien DNA with that of humanity.

Starting with a small vessel players will need to build their craft into an ark using dozens of upgradable ship building modules such as crew quarters, workshops, hangars, clone labs and greenhouses.  A build mode will allow players to create their spacecraft easily and efficiently and then enter the ship in first person to explore the products of your labour.

As your ship gets larger the need for more crew also increases and the ship’s cloning system will allow players to expand their crew using the DNA from the alien lifeforms that you encounter (and kill) and splicing it with the DNA of your crew.

Genesis: Alpha One will be coming to Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC in 2018.
