Manuel Garcia-Rulfo is set to topline the new Jurassic World film from director Gareth Edwards.
Deadline reports that the actor is the latest to join the upcoming blockbuster, which is set to shake up the long-running franchise again. Little is known about the project’s plot.
Manuel Garcia-Rulfo had his breakout role in Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer, and he’ll be seen next in the streamer’s Spanish-language film Pedro Páramo. His other credits include Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Murder of the Orient Express, and The Magnificent Seven.
Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey will also star in the new dinosaur blockbuster. Jurassic World cast members Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, as well as the legacy characters from the original Jurassic Park trilogy, will not appear.
The franchise has been a massive success for the studio, with the six films earning more than $6 billion worldwide.
Universal and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin hope to reinvigorate the series and are acting fast to get things in place to meet their July 2, 2025, release date.
