Gareth Edwards is set to level up to one of the most iconic franchises, and his Jurassic World entry has its official title. Revealed on social media this week, it has been announced that Edwards will direct Jurassic World Rebirth, set for release next summer.
This new entry, the seventh in the franchise, will star Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, and Mahershala Ali. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, and David Iacono round out the supporting cast, with no actors returning from previous films.
Jurassic World Rebirth is being looked at as a brand-new era for the Jurassic movies, evolving from the iconic 90s franchise to the 2010s blockbusters. The new film brings back OG writer David Koepp to capture the magic of before while pushing the dinosaur-filled madness forward.
There are no details regarding the plot, but the first-look images conjure feelings of nostalgia. Could the plot see a revamp of the original for a modern lens, or could it just return to its science-filled roots? Only time will tell.
