Last week it was announced that Warner Bros. has enlisted DC’s Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns to head up a new division DC Films in order to oversee the DC Extended Universe.
Johns has long been rumoured to be collaborating with Ben Affleck on a script for a Batman solo movie, and he’s now confirmed that for the first time in an interview with Comic Book, stating that: “I do get to say I’m working on Batman with Ben Affleck. That gets the Thanksgiving table excited, especially my brother.”
Meanwhile, promoting tomorrow’s release of Johns’ DC Universe: Rebirth #1 [read a preview here], Ben Affleck has offered some praise for his writing partner: “I would read anything by Geoff Johns. Fucking genius, I love him. I love DC, I’m really excited about where it’s going, and I couldn’t be more honored and thrilled to be on board and part of this DC universe.”

As yet, there’s been no word on a timeframe for the Batman solo movie, although Warner Bros. does have two as-yet-unannounced DC dates on October 5th 2018 and November 1st 2019.
