LUCAS STILL INVOLVED IN STAR WARS?
It has been reported many times that since George Lucas sold Lucasfilm to Disney, the man who created Star Wars has had very little involvement in the rebooted franchise. He did offer a potential storyline for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but nothing he suggested was ever used. In a new interview with Kathleen Kennedy, the lady behind Lucasfilm has revealed that although Lucas isn’t involved in Star Wars, he is still offering some advice. “But he’ll whisper in my ear every now and then,” she said. “Usually it’s something specific or important to him about Jedi training. Things like that.” Read more here.
Although it wasn’t well-received by fans and critics, Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant did have one fan in Aliens director James Cameron. “I thought that Alien: Covenant was a great ride. It was beautiful. I love Ridley’s films, I love his filmmaking; I love the beauty of the photography.” Read more of his thoughts here.

LaFauve has left due to her commitments directing Disney’s upcoming movie Gigantic, while there is no update on Pearlman who co-wrote Guardians of the Galaxy. The new writer is Geneva Robertson-Dworet, who has written the upcoming reboot of Tomb Raider as well as Gotham City Sirens for DC. Read more here.
Although Kevin Fiege announced Samuel L. Jackson would feature in Captain Marvel, the man himself has said no one has called him about the film and he’s yet to sign on. Not only that, but we won’t be seeing Nick Fury any time soon. “I wasn’t in the ‘superhero argument’ movie [Captain America: Civil War], I’m not in Avengers 3 and 4,” he surprisingly noted. “They’re shooting them now, and they haven’t called me yet. They wouldn’t let me go to Black Panther-ville, so it’s kinda like how you gonna make a black Marvel movie and not let Nick Fury show up in it!”
