HBO has revealed two new featurettes for the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon: the first, ‘Before the Dance: An Illustrated History with George R.R. Martin’, sees the author sharing details on the houses and relationships featured in the fantasy drama, while the second, ‘Height of an Empire’, sees the cast and crew discussing how the series takes place at the height of the Targaryen reign, and how that influenced the story and design. Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series, which is set 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” tells the story of House Targaryen.
House of the Dragon features a cast that includes Paddy Considine (The Outsider), Matt Smith (Doctor Who), Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One), Emma D’Arcy (Truth Seekers), Rhys Ifans (The Amazing Spider-Man), Steve Toussaint (Small Axe), Sonoya Minuzo (Crazy Rich Asians), Eve Best (Nurse Jackie), and Graham McTavish (Outlander)
House of the Dragon will premiere on HBO on August 21st in the US, and on Sky Atlantic and NOW on August 22nd in the UK.
