Paramount Pictures is gearing up to take us back to the days of coliseums and brutality with the new Gladiator II trailer.
Director Ridley Scott seemingly hasn’t missed a beat when it comes to this universe, as the first look of this new epic film showcases some epic battles and heartwrenching drama.
The new trailer sees Paul Mescal as our new warrior Lucius, alongside Pedro Pascal as General Acacius, Denzel Washington as Macrinus, Connie Nielsen as Lucilla, Fred Hechinger as Emperor Caracalla, and Joseph Quinn as Emperor Geta; feast your eyes below…
Several decades after the events of Gladiator (2000), Lucius—the grandson of Rome’s former emperor Marcus Aurelius and son of Lucilla—lives with his wife and child in Numidia. Roman soldiers led by General Marcus Acacius invaded, forcing Lucius into slavery. Inspired by the story of Maximus, as depicted in the original 2000 film, Lucius resolves to fight as a gladiator while opposing the rule of the young emperors Caracalla and Geta.
Gladiator II will be released in cinemas on November 15th in the UK and November 22nd in North America.
