When Unbreakable failed to hit the commercial heights of The Sixth Sense way back in 2000, few thought they’d ever see M. Night Shyamalan’s Eastrail 177 trilogy play out in full. Yet here we are, all these years later, with Glass set to break January box office records when it opens worldwide on January 18th.
However, there’s a new twist, because anyone lucky enough to live near an Alamo Drafthouse will get the chance to attend a special ‘Shyamalanathon’ screening, where audiences will watch Unbreakable, Split, and Glass, a week before the rest of the world.
The screenings will be followed by a Q&A with Shyamalan, who’s always an excitable and enthusiastic interview at such events, and will take place at the following cinemas;
Alamo Drafthouse Brooklyn (Brooklyn, NY), Alamo Drafthouse New Mission (San Francisco, CA), Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar (Austin, TX), Alamo Drafthouse Ritz (Austin, TX), Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline (Austin, TX), Alamo Drafthouse Park North (San Antonio, TX), Alamo Drafthouse Stone Oak (San Antonio, TX), Alamo Drafthouse Yonkers (Yonkers, NY), Alamo Drafthouse Raleigh (Raleigh, NC), Alamo Drafthouse Mainstreet (Kansas City, MO), Alamo Drafthouse Littleton (Littleton, CO), Alamo Drafthouse Sloans Lake (Denver, CO), Alamo Drafthouse LaCenterra (Katy, TX), and Alamo Drafthouse Lubbock (Lubbock, TX), Alamo Drafthouse Montecillo (El Paso, TX), Alamo Drafthouse Cedars (Dallas, TX), Alamo Drafthouse Lake Highlands (Dallas, TX), Alamo Drafthouse Richardson (Richardson, TX), Alamo Drafthouse Las Colinas (Irving, TX), Alamo Drafthouse Denton (Denton, TX), Alamo Drafthouse Woodbury (Woodbury, MN), Alamo Drafthouse One Loudoun (Ashburn, VA), Alamo Drafthouse La Vista (La Vista, NE), Alamo Drafthouse Chandler (Chandler, AZ) and Alamo Drafthouse Tempe (Tempe, AZ).
Anyone lucky enough to be near one of these venues can book tickets for as little as $5 using the links here and here. The rest of us will have to seethe with jealousy until Glass is released on January 18th.
Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men. This riveting culmination of his worldwide blockbusters will be produced by Shyamalan and Jason Blum.
Glass will see the return of Bruce Willis (David Dunn), Samuel L. Jackson (Elijah Price), Spencer Treat Clark (Joseph Dunn) and Charlayne Woodard (Mrs. Price) from Unbreakable and James McAvoy (Kevin Wendell Crumb) and Anya Taylor-Joy (Casey Cooke) from Split, while Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story) also stars. The film is slated to hit cinemas on January 19th 2019.
