Good Omens will conclude, and it’s not how fans or the creators wanted it to end. According to a new report, the Amazon fantasy drama will not return for an entire third season but will now be wrapped up with one 90-minute episode. This has stemmed from severe allegations that surfaced about series creator Neil Gaiman.
Media outlet Deadline reports that “Gaiman contributed to the writing of the series finale” of Good Omens but will not be working on the production. His production company, the Blank Corporation, is no longer involved.
Tortoise Media released a podcast with accounts from two women with whom he was in consensual relationships and who accused him of sexual assault. Since then, two more have come forward with allegations. Gaiman denies these claims, but Deadline revealed that Gaiman offered to step back so the show could move forward.
Michael Sheen (the angel Aziraphale) and David Tennant (the demon Crowley) will return for the one-off. It will begin shooting in early 2025 after production of the franchise was halted when the allegations about Gaiman arose.
The series sees a fussy angel, Aziraphale, and a loose-living demon, Crowley, team up to form an unlikely duo. It is based on Terry Pratchett’s 1990 novel. Good Omens also starred Jon Hamm, Miranda Richardson, and Frances McDormand.
Good Omens is now streaming on Amazon.
