FOX may be fast tracking Bruce Wayne’s transformation into Batman, but it seems that isn’t doing much to halt the ratings slide on Gotham, with Comic Book reporting that the show has set new series lows with both episodes of its new fourth season.
The first episode, ‘Pax Penguina‘, scored a 1.0 rating with 3.2 million viewers, while the second ‘The Fear Reaper‘ managed just a 0.8 rating with 2.8 million viewers, the lowest for the show to date.
Gotham premiere to a whopping 8.21 million viewers back in 2014, with the first season averaging 7.56 million viewers per epsiode. This dropped to 5.37 million in its second season, and 4.52 million in its third. Should the ratings continue to drop this season, then a fifth season of the show must surely be in doubt.
With that in mind, perhaps it’s a good thing they’re speeding up Bruce Wayne’s story…
