Variety is reporting that Ben Affleck’s long-awaited return to the director’s chair is now moving forward, with news that Live by Night has been given the green-light by Warner Bros.
Affleck, who is to appear at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend for the Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice panel, is set to star and direct the film which would have gone before cameras a year or so ago, but his schedule filled up quickly with Gone Girl and taking over the Bat-cowl for Zack Snyder’s blockbuster.
The film is based on a novel by Dennis Lehane, with Elle Fanning (Maleficent), Zoe Saldana (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Sienna Miller (American Sniper) all still set to star in the film alongside Affleck, who will also produce as will Leonardo DiCaprio and his company Appian Way.
Warner Bros. has set an October 2016 release for the film, with a November start date set for production. Stay tuned to Flickering Myth for all the latest news from San Diego Comic-Con!
