Greta Gerwig’s Little Women gets a first trailer

August 13, 2019 by Amie Cranswick

Sony Pictures has debuted the first trailer for Greta Gerwig’s upcoming adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel Little Women which features a star-studded cast that includes Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Timothée Chalamet, Laura Dern, Meryl Streep, Chris Cooper, Louis Garrel, Tracy Letts, James Norton, and Bob Odenkirk; watch it here…

Writer-director Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) has crafted a Little Women that draws on both the classic novel and the writings of Louisa May Alcott, and unfolds as the author’s alter ego, Jo March, reflects back and forth on her fictional life. In Gerwig’s take, the beloved story of the March sisters – four young women each determined to live life on her own terms — is both timeless and timely.

Little Women is set for release on December 25th in the US and on December 26th in the UK and features a cast that also includes Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul), James Norton (McMafia), Louis Garrel (A Faithful Man), Chris Cooper (August: Osage County), and Sasha Frolova (Red Sparrow).
