It has become a common theme with some movies to release a soundtrack on vinyl as a collector’s item, but Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (now their third biggest grossing movie) is set to release theirs on cassette.
In the movie, Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) listens to a cassette named Awesome Mix Volume 1 throughout the movie, which will soon be yours to own. It will be the first cassette produced and released by Disney since 2003.
Here’s the track listing:
1. Blue Swede – “Hooked on a Feeling”
2. Raspberries – “Go All the Way”
3. Norman Greenbaum – “Spirit in the Sky”
4. David Bowie – “Moonage Daydream”
5. Elvin Bishop – “Fooled Around and Fell in Love”
6. 10cc – “I’m Not in Love”
7. Jackson 5 – “I Want You Back”
8. Redbone – “Come and Get Your Love”
9. The Runaways – “Cherry Bomb”
10. Rupert Holmes – “Escape (the Pina Colada Song)”

Awesome Mix Vol. 1 was a huge hit for Disney, spending two weeks at the top of the Billboard 200. This cassette edition will be released on November 17th and will only be available until December 31st – unless they sell out of them before then!
